After running away from home at the age of 10 and spending five years living in the streets of Johannesburg, Siphiwe Christopher Mathebula got a second chance to life when a Good Samaritan took him off the streets. She took him back to school in Tembisa, where he was born, to reshape his life. At age 22, he finished High School and enrolled at a Bible School in Cape Town where he began his journey of serving in God’s Kingdom. 

After graduating from Bible School, he became an Assistant Pastor at the Baptist Church for about 13 years. It was during his years of diligent and excellent service to the Lord at Baptist Church that he received a vision from the Lord to “Restore Hope to Our World”. Consequently, he started Hope Restoration Ministries (HRM) in 2001 together with his wife Phindi.

Rev. Mathebula, is the Lead Pastor and Visionary of HRM, a contemporary church with 7 campuses across Gauteng (Roodepoort, Tembisa, Tshwane, Springs, Ebony Park, Midrand and main campus in Chloorkop).

This fast growing church has a membership of over 25, 000 people and is set to spread to other Provinces in South Africa. The ministry crosses geographic, ethnic, racial, class and denominational boundaries, with the aim of bringing out the untapped potential inside individuals and encouraging them to live a full life as ordained by God. 

Rev. Mathebula is a sought after preacher of the Gospel and speaker for both local and international conferences. He has delivered talks in conferences such as the Heroes Conference at Rivers Church in Johannesburg, the ARC Conference in Ireland, Edge Church Annual Conference in Australia and he is the host of the annual Men of Hope Conference which is attended by over 2 000 men from all over the country.
He is a Devoted Citizen, Pastor, Author, Columnist, and a Leadership Consultant. He has supported organizations such as the Office of the Public Protector of South Africa and South African Airways amongst others. 

His latest book is titled Devoted Citizen. His TV program “Hope Alive” broadcasts on local TV channels.
Rev. Mathebula loves to read, watch a good game of soccer and running to keep fit. He is married to Phindi Mathebula and they are blessed with five children; two girls and three boys.
